These persons have applied to become Anniston City Council representative from Ward 1

Seven people turned in applications for the Ward 1 council seat left vacant by former Councilman John Spain’s resignation on Dec. 12.

The applicants are vying to serve the remainder of Spain’s term on the council which will end in October.

The legal requirements to run for the seat are that the candidate has to live in Ward 1 and has to be a registered voter.
