A Weaver woman was killed in an early morning house fire at 201 Pinecrest Drive, Weaver firefighters say.

Firefighters say the fire began around 2:45 a.m.

Weaver firefighters were on the scene at 3 a.m., and were soon joined by volunteer firefighters from Alexandria and Angel. It took 40 minutes to douse the blaze, firefighters said.

One person, a woman, was killed in the fire. Firefighters did not release the woman's name, saying they had yet to notify next of kin.

County tax records show the house as the property of Randy Blake Pettus and Robin Caulder.

Firefighters said the state fire marshal had been called in to determine the cause of the blaze.
