Re “Citizens United’s sugar daddies: Loosened campaign-finance rules allowing wealthy to affect campaigns” (Editorial, Feb. 22):

Some years ago, while my son was in basic training, he asked me, “What is affirmative-action”? I told him that it’s government-sponsored discrimination.

Upon his graduation, he and a friend were the top two in achievements to be named soldier of the cycle. The award was given to a female who was not in the top 10. I told him, “That’s affirmative-action.” A Carter administration official, in a speech, was once critical of the economy. The president scolded him and warned him to not use the word “economy” again. In his next speech, instead of “economy,” he used the word “banana.” Everyone knew what he meant.

Along the way, some liberal bureaucrat substituted the phrase “affirmative action” for “discrimination.” Equal opportunity does not mean equal results. The Star’s criticism of the Supreme Court is typical liberal vomit. The elite who dictate to peons on how society should operate are not affected by their calls of social justice. I would love to see the writer replaced by a minority and told, “This is diversity.” I’ll bet he would sing a different tune.
