RUSSELLVILLE (AP) — A northwest Alabama man is charged with capital murder in the shooting deaths of his parents.

The TimesDaily of Florence (http://bit.ly/GI9jKk ) reports that 26-year-old Michael Joe McLemore of Phil Campbell was indicted in the killings of 56-year-old Ricky Hodge and 59-year-old Connie Hodges. Officials say both were shot with a .22-caliber rifle in their home.

McLemore is also charged with attempted murder for allegedly using a hammer to beat two other relatives who were also in the home.

Investigators say McLemore walked to a neighbor's house and asked to use the telephone. The neighbor says McLemore called 911 and told operators he had shot his parents.

Authorities say the shooting apparently involved money. McLemore was arrested in September; court records show he is set to enter a plea in June.
