Re “Ice age weapons donated to Ohatchee museum” (News article, May 1):

Star reporter Laura Johnson did a great story about the Indian artifact collection being donated to the Janney Furnace Museum. For those who don’t know, the Janney Furnace Museum and the Confederate Memorial are all brought to you by Calhoun County Commissioner Eli Henderson.

Years ago Eli had built a park, with the help of inmates from the Calhoun County Jail, at Coldwater Creek and U.S. 78. This is my favorite contribution by Eli. I pass by it all the time.

Another brainchild of Eli is the Special Kids Fishing Classic event.

Wonder what other ideas Eli will bring to the circuit clerk’s office? You can bet there will be some.
