As part of its Adult Summer Reading Program with the theme “Reading is so Delicious,” the Public Library of Anniston-Calhoun County recently featured Cooking with Herbs presented by Prudence Hilburn. From Piedmont, Prudence is a recipe-creator and a prolific writer of at least 11 cookbooks.

Prudence writes The Gourmet Touch for The Star and has won a myriad cooking awards as well as appearing on state and national television. Her recent presentation featured herbs you can grow in your garden. Prudence prepared thyme for rosemary’s chicken and vegetable skillet, herbed butter, and fresh dill and cucumber vinaigrette, which the audience enjoyed sampling.

Further, Prudence discussed fresh herbs and dried herbs in addition to tips on freezing fresh herbs. Three cookbooks by Prudence were available for purchase and signing at her presentation. Hats off to Prudence and her culinary talent.
