Award-winning Birmingham chef Chris Hastings will be cooking at Garfrerick’s Café in Oxford on July 10. Hastings, owner of the Hot and Hot Fish Club in Birmingham, was just named Best Chef in the South by the prestigious James Beard Foundation. He also faced off against Bobby Flay on the Food Network’s “Iron Chef” in February — and won. (The secret ingredient was sausage.)

Hastings has long served as a friend and mentor to Dave Garfrerick, owner and chef at the Oxford restaurant.

On July 10, Hastings and Garfrerick will cook up a five-course dinner, accompanied by five wines. Dinner starts at 6:30 p.m.Price is $95 per person, not including tax and gratuity. For reservations, call 256-831-0044.
