Police on Sunday arrested an Anniston woman after she allegedly cut her mother with a knife during a fight at their home on Gurnee Avenue.

Asheanna Mieshia Crowe, 24, was charged with second-degree domestic violence after police responded to a domestic disturbance call on Gurnee Avenue around 7 p.m., according to Anniston police.

Police Sgt. Josh Doggrell said Crowe got into a fight, which later turned physical, with her mother around 6 p.m. The victim said Crowe bit her before retrieving a knife from the kitchen of the home and cutting her arm, Doggrell said.

The police report said the woman had a severe laceration on her arm when police arrived at the scene. Doggrell said she refused medical attention at the time.

Crowe was being held at the Anniston City Jail this morning. No bond or court date had been set.
