The U.S. credit rating was downgraded in part because of the debt-ceiling fiasco. And what happened there? Why, the Republicans on the committee refused to agree to anything President Obama said. Even after he agreed to go with their plan, they changed their minds because they simply couldn’t agree with Obama. People might think he helped in some way.
Why are all the jobs overseas? That must be Obama’s fault, too — except that it isn’t. It is up to Congress, not the president, to make laws. Instead, Congress fights endlessly over the health-care bill. Congress should be figuring out how to create jobs if you insist that this should be done at the national level.
This was taught in your high school government class. Did you miss the day when we learned that Congress is really in charge and the president is basically just a figurehead and whipping boy?
