In 1994, Ann came to work with me at Nunnally’s Framing; we worked together until I sold the business to her. Since that time, she has grown the business, bought and restored a building to house it in on Noble Street and has successfully created a local art gallery.
Having worked with Ann for many years, I tell you she can not only “handle it,” she can improve and reinvent our Model City. She has a vision for all of Anniston — north, south, east and west — and part of that vision is all of us working together to better our city.
She surrounds herself with capable people who know their work and can get the job done. She knows that people who work together can conquer great obstacles and create great results.
Her leadership ability is obvious. She joined organizations and served on boards such as Altrusa, American Business Women’s Association, The Spirit of Anniston Main Street Program, Concern for Children and the Chamber’s Leadership Calhoun County Program, and ultimately led them all as chairperson or president. She has always stepped up to the plate to contribute in small ways and big ways. She can do that for “our” Anniston.
I encourage you to meet Ann and ask her about the issues. You’ll probably think she is so nice, so kind, so pleasant and smart — and she is. But what you might not see at first is that she’s very comfortable in the seat of authority. People respect her and see that she is a natural-born leader. She is honest and ethical and she expects that in return. Ann will make a great mayor for Anniston.
