Disaster strikes and lives change. Homes are lost, families are separated, the death toll climbs and despair overwhelms our community.

With the help of donations from the community, the Calhoun County Long Term Recovery Committee gives people the opportunity to rebuild their lives in a way that can bring the most comfort during these very difficult times.

The Calhoun County Long Term Recovery Committee would like to thank all the volunteers who gave of their time and money to help our citizens after the 2011 tornadoes. A special thank you to the vendors and contractors that helped rebuild our community by helping us with the cost of materials and labor.

I would like to say thank you to the committee members who meet monthly to ensure the unmet needs of the client were addressed.

Our community is better prepared with local training offered by Calhoun County Emergency Management Agency in disaster preparedness. Consider taking the Citizen Corp. CERT training to learn how to take care of you and your family during and after a disaster.
