The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Betty Pugh of Eastaboga and the late Herman Pugh and June Peabody of Anniston and the late Jerre Mitchell.
Ms. Mitchell is a graduate of Walter Wellborn High School and Gadsden State Community College. She is employed by Stringfellow Memorial Hospital.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Johnny and Dot Shirley of Pinson and Joe and Amanda Shaw of Trussville.
Mr. Shaw is a graduate of Sparkman High School. He is employed by the U.S. Army.
The wedding will be 1 p.m. Dec. 1, 2012, at Noccalula Falls Chapel in Gadsden.
