I have known Mike for many years and have known him to be a man of integrity, foresight and leadership. Mike has 24 years of experience as a member of the Calhoun County Board of Education. Having served in this capacity and been a part of the public school system, he is well aware of the challenges and opportunities facing Calhoun County public education.
In Mike’s 32-year career with the Opportunity Center, he gained valuable budget and financial skills that are so crucial for a board member. But, having said that, Mike puts the needs of the students as a priority, supporting education for all students. He will do what is in the best interests of the students.
Mike has an “open-door” policy and is always willing to listen to the concerns of teachers, parents, etc. Mike is married to a retired teacher and is a strong family man and is very involved with his church and community. He exemplifies the leadership and integrity Calhoun County expects and deserves.
