Voters trying to choose from among candidates for local offices in next week’s election will get a chance to see the contenders in person Tuesday night.

The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce and The Anniston Star will host the forum with the local candidates in the general election. Candidates in the races for the Calhoun County Board of Education, circuit court clerk and circuit judge will talk about the issues members of the audience find most important.

The forum starts at the Anniston City Meeting Center at 6 p.m.

The forum moderator, Mike Stedham, will ask questions submitted by audience members. Each candidate will have two minutes to respond.

The forum, the 13th held in Calhoun County this year, is one way voters can become more informed about those running for office, forum hosts said.

“The issues here are unique to The Anniston Star’s coverage area, and we wanted to give the candidates the opportunity to present their ideas to the voters,” said Bob Davis, associate publisher for The Star.
