Law enforcement officials say the search for a missing 5-year-old boy from Talladega is over.

The search for the child, abducted by his non-custodial father from the Arby’s in Talladega, reached the one week mark Friday.

According to a release from Talladega Police Chief Alan Watson, U.S. Marshals secured the child, Thomas Evan Diggs, in Daytona, Fla. The boy’s father, 35-year-old Thomas Eric Diggs of Oxford, was arrested on the scene and is being held in Daytona.

A statewide media alert was issued Wednesday, indicating that father and son may be headed to Daytona Beach.
