If Republicans are successful and dismantle the Social Security program, what is your personal plan? If you are 50 years old and find yourself in the position of coming up with your own retirement plan (at this late stage) and are now faced with taking care of your aging parents and their health-care costs and your children who can’t find a job, how will you manage it? Will a Republican government that considers you a deadbeat give back 30 years of Social Security premiums deducted from your pay plus all the interest they earned on those funds?
Is it going to feel like a victory because some gay people you don’t even know couldn’t get married or that women couldn’t control their own reproductive rights? When you have sold your soul to the devil to uphold your personal opinions about other people, will you be able to live with the price? That’s the trade you are making.
They will make that deal with you and encourage you to stand fast on those opinions while they have their hands in your pockets. If you are that gullible, can I sell you a puff of air, because I’m going to need some money, too. You have also affected my family’s future.
