Alabama Power spokeswoman Alyson Tucker said that her company received the first call about the outage at around 5:35 p.m. Power had been knocked out along Alabama 21 near the Honeywell Aerospace facility, she said.
“We have some wire down near Honeywell and the airport,” Tucker said. “We’ve got our crews and lineman out there now looking at the situation.”
The cause of the outage was not known, Tucker said, but the workers were trying to isolate the outage and get customers back online as quickly as possible.
