Representatives from Anniston Pump Shop, a petroleum equipment retailer, notified police of the theft Tuesday. The report stated that since Feb. 7, thieves have made off with surveillance cameras, aluminum gas pumps and pump nozzles from the company’s equipment location on U.S. 431.
Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said investigators believe the thefts occurred at different times, and that the suspect or suspects gained entry to the site by cutting a hole into the fence
“This could have happened all in one day with multiple people; it could have been one person going back a lot of times,” Sparks said. “There are a lot of different scenarios.”
Sparks said it’s unclear when the business discovered the stolen equipment. Police don’t have any suspects at this time.
Attempts to reach an official with the Anniston Pump Shop on Wednesday were unsuccessful.
