Mike Webb, accident investigator, said the wreck occurred at 2:45 p.m. while the vehicles were travelling south near P Street in Anniston. Webb said the accident involved a Dodge Ram driven by a 46-year-old man, a Pontiac Vibe driven by a 29-year-old woman and a Nissan Frontier driven by a 59-year-old man. None of the drivers were accompanied by passengers, Webb said.
Webb said the Dodge Ram rear-ended the Pontiac Vibe and the force of that impact caused the vehicle to hit the Nissan Frontier, stopped right in front of the Pontiac.
Webb said the Pontiac and Nissan drivers were taken to Regional Medical Center for treatment of injuries from which they are expected to recover. All three vehicles were towed from the scene, Webb said.
“This appears to be a normal rear-ender,” Webb said. “I don’t think there’s any cell phones, drugs or alcohol involved.”
