A woman allegedly stabbed her 32-year-old boyfriend in the leg Wednesday, according to Anniston police.

The victim told police he was visiting his girlfriend Wednesday between 10 p.m. and 11 p.m. at her home in the Lenlock area, Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said. Sparks said the victim would not provide police with a specific location of his girlfriend’s home.

The man said the couple had an argument and during the fight his girlfriend stabbed him in the right thigh with a small kitchen knife, Sparks said.

The victim received treatment at Stringfellow Memorial Hospital and is expected to recover from his injuries.

Sparks said the victim has not been forthcoming with police, but a suspect has been identified.

If charged, the suspect will likely face felony second-degree domestic violence charges, according to a police report.
