A 20-year-old man was allegedly assaulted at a bar early Sunday morning on Hillyer Robinson Parkway, according to police.

The Talladega resident told police he was involved in a fight with another man he did not know inside a bar on the 1500 block of Hillyer Robinson Parkway, Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said.

The incident occurred Sunday morning between 2 and 4 o’clock, according to a police report.

The victim was struck in the back of the head with a hard object by another man who was not involved in the fight, Sparks said.

Sparks would not release details about the object, citing an ongoing investigation.

The victim suffered several minor injuries, but refused medical treatment at the scene, the sergeant said.

No suspects were named and the incident was under investigation Monday, Sparks said.

A suspect is likely to be charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to the report.
