Right now, Michael Bright lives farther than he’s ever lived from Piedmont. He and his family make their home in Goshen, just outside town.

Four years ago, Bright was called as associate pastor and youth pastor at First Baptist Church of White Plains. Previously, he had pastored two churches in Cherokee County, Rock Run Baptist and Sardis Hill.

His work at White Plains Baptist includes visiting and ministering to the adults as well as the youth. He said as much as he likes working with the adult members of the church, his love is with the younger ones.

“That’s where most of my time and energy are spent,” he said. “Most of my attention goes to the teen-agers. The Lord put it into my heart to go into the ministry and, I feel like this is where He wants me to be.”

Bright was working at Bostrom Seating when he was saved on Palm Sunday in 1996 at Pine Grove.
