A 54-year-old man was reportedly assaulted this morning by his girlfriend’s sons on Moore Avenue, according to Anniston police.

Anniston police Capt. Allen George said the man was visiting his girlfriend on the 1800 block of Moore Avenue this morning at 1:30. The woman’s two adult sons entered their mother’s bedroom and started yelling at her, George said.

The victim sat up in bed, George said, and the suspects struck him on the top of the head with an unknown object.

George said the man fell off the bed and onto the floor, where the suspects kicked him repeatedly. The man had bruising on his head, but refused medical treatment, the captain said.

The case was under investigation today, George said, and he was uncertain whether police had spoken to the suspects.

The suspects could be charged with second-degree assault, a felony, according to a police report.
