Anniston police on Tuesday arrested a 23-year-old man on a felony charge of marijuana possession.

Anniston police Sgt. Chris Sparks said officers pulled over Corda Lebron Phillips, of Anniston, for a traffic violation on the corner of McKleroy Avenue and McArthur Drive at 9:36 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Sparks, officers found a plastic bag containing smaller bags of marijuana. The sergeant said the smaller bags appeared to be packaged for sale, which led to Phillips receiving a felony charge of marijuana possession.

Sparks declined to give the weight of the bag of marijuana, saying the department’s crime lab typically makes that determination.
