Re “Local churches talk about open worship and the county’s gay population” (Faith article, June 15):

“I set my rainbow in the cloud,” God says in Genesis 9, “and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth. Looking upon the rainbow in the cloud is a reminder between Him and every living creature of all flesh the waters shall never again become a flood to destroy all flesh.”

Nations descended after God had forgiven mankind for the abuse of His love, but we still commit against His love, like the photo on The Star’s Faith section. The problem is that in recent generations we have refused acceptance of our guilt of wrong and kids are not taught the consequences of sin.

The sign of the rainbow appeared after Sodom and Gomorrah for sexual perversion to stop people bent on killing themselves for their uncleanness of homosexuality; His sign of the rainbow appeared in the heavens as proof He didn’t want people to waste away in their iniquity.

His rainbow appeared as a sign of His promise that we are forgiven. This beautiful manifestation in the sky is the likeness of the glory of God that He tells us in Ezekiel 2. For humans to use it for anything else is the distortion of the Creator, who made the heavens and earth.
