The past week was busy and productive for the Cleburne County volleyball team. The Tigers swept best-of-5 matches against all three of their Class 4A, Area 10 opponents to remain undefeated in Area 10 matches.

Cleburne County breezed past Anniston 25-6, 25-12, 25-4 in Anniston on Thursday of last week. Monday, the Tigers downed Munford 26-24, 25-23, 25-23 on the road. The final win came at home against rival Lincoln Tuesday. Against the Golden Bears, Cleburne County won 25-23, 25-15, 25-18 to improve to 5-0 in Area 10 and 9-7 overall.

Coach Doug Ward called the win over Lincoln an overall team effort, typical of the Tigers’ season so far. The Tigers got strong serving from Kaity Zeiders and Dynasty Santana. Zeiders and Toni Epps contributed kills to the attack. Middles Abbie Lee and Madison Noell helped control the net on defense.

Cleburne County hosts White Plains Monday.
