Ranburne 49, Sheffield 12

Dylan Tullis rushed for 198 yards and three touchdowns as Ranburne won its first playoff game since 1989.

Tullis scored on runs of 11, 2 and 27 yards and gained his yardage on 28 carries.

Ranburne (10-1) scored touchdowns on its first two possessions and never looked back.

Dylan Wiggins completed 5 of 12 passes for 153 yards and a pair of touchdown passes. He hit Adam Shepherd with a 30-yard scoring pass in the fourth quarter, then closed out the scoring with a 65-yarder to Braden Wilson.

Wiggins also scored on a 4-yard run as he rushed for 50 yards on seven attempts. Brady Whittle had a touchdown on a 1-yard run, finishing the night with 45 yards on eight carries.

Cole Yearta led the defense with eight tackles and a sack. Kyle Lovvorn and Zach Patterson each had seven stops.

Sheffield managed one touchdown each in the third and fourth quarters.

Munford 48, Ardmore 14

Rocky Smith rushed for 141 yards and scored three touchdowns to lead the Munford Lions to a win over Ardmore Friday night in the first round of the Class 4A Alabama High School Athletic Association playoffs.

The Lions (10-1) will host Guntersville in the second round on Friday.

Monteo Garrett rushed for 92 yards. He also completed a 23-yard touchdown pass to C.J. Chapman on Munford’s first offensive play, and the Lions never trailed.

Que Taylor added a 4-yard touchdown run with 3:50 to play in the first quarter.

Smith scored from 8 yards out for a 20-0 lead with 5:54 left in the first half.

Tavon Lawson’s 1-yard run put the Lions up 27-0 with 2:15 left in the second quarter, and Munford went into intermission ahead 27-6.

Smith managed touchdown runs of 9 and 46 yards in the second half, and Chapman added an 8- yard touchdown run.

J.O. Johnson 49, Lincoln 16

The Lincoln Golden Bears experienced an early playoff exit to J.O. Johnson, which entered having lost only one regular-season game.

The Jaguars did it by dominating the third quarter, breaking open an 8-8 game with 22 unanswered points.

Lincoln trailed 8-0 before scoring with 1:27 to play in the first half.

Golden Bears quarterback Chance Byrd hit receiver Zay Caldwell with an 87-yard touchdown pass. Running back Jamario Howard converted the 2-point conversion.
