Anniston Star readers may recall an excellent essay by Munford native Cole Nelson from two years ago - Thanksgiving in India: In the slums, among the dying, he found glimpses of joy.

The latest issue of Rock and Ice magazine includes a harrowing account by Nelson involving a climbing incident on Mount Rainier.

My friend Tom Moore and I were 400 feet from the summit of Mount Rainier - and then I was falling, suspended in an aerial cascade. I felt myself accelerate and then plummeted into a crevasse.
