Prep basketball roundup: Foster, Falcons top Fayetteville

Three players scored in double figures for home-standing Donoho as the Falcons improved to 4-1 on the season with a 54-35 win over Fayetteville. Junior Justin Foster led the Donoho attack with 19 points and grabbed five rebounds. Junior Schuyler Buckner netted 13 points in the win. Senior Chris Carr had 11 points and three rebounds.

Donoho hosts Faith Christian Saturday afternoon.

Clay Central 69, Cleburne County 53: At Heflin, Clay Central built a 33-23 halftime as Jaylon Lyles scored 20 points and DeAndre Wills tallied 11 points. Max Prichard led Cleburne County with 21 points. Christian Henson had eight points for the Tigers.

Jaylon Lyles tallied 20 points for the Volunteers. DeAndre Wills added 11 points, JoJo Staples 10 points and Lamonyn Burney nine points.

Clay Central plays at Beauregard tonight.

Cleburne County entertains White Plains Saturday afternoon.

A.H. Parker 56, Anniston 47: At Birmingham, Parker pulled away from the Bulldogs in the second half. Quin Jackson paced Anniston with 13 points. Qua Frazier had 11 points and six rebounds. Quint Dobbins scored nine points. Parker led just 25-24 at halftime.

Anniston hosts Munford tonight in a area game.

Randolph County 49, Wadley 27: At Wadley, Randolph County led 23-16 at halftime and pulled away steadily in the second half.

Elijah McFarland recorded a double-double for the Tigers with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Braxton Lackey scored 10 points for the winners. Levi Phillips contributed eight rebounds and five points as Randolph County improved to 4-1. The Tigers host intra-county rival Handley tonight.


Anniston 54, A.H. Parker 30:
At Birmingham, the Bulldogs won handily despite 23 turnovers. Senior Quanetria Bolton had a double-double, 18 points and 13 rebounds, and blocked five shots. Davia Palmer recorded 11 points and four steals. Marticia Jackson had nine points and five assists. Ki-Yana Bullock added nine rebounds, six points and four steals.

Anniston (5-2) hosts Munford in area play tonight.

Fayetteville 53, Donoho 28: Visiting Fayetteville led 24-22 at halftime then pulled away. Amanda Sherer drilled four 3-point baskets and ended with 12 points for Donoho. Constance Hodges had seven points and Kirin Heathcock six points for the Falcons (1-3).

Woodland 88, Wellborn 16: At Wellborn, five players scored in double figures as the Bobcats improved to 4-0 overall with an area win. Shanna Strain tallied 19 points, Jaide Walker 16, Leah Strain 13, Adre Bowen 11 and Shalyn Strain 11 for the winners. Carlee Mullinax led the Panthers with nine points.

Woodland continues area play tonight, hosting Ranburne.

Cleburne County 54, Clay Central 20: At Heflin, Kaity Zeiders’ double-double, 11 points and 12 rebounds, helped the Tigers improve to 5-1. Shawntavia Boyd had 11 points, six rebounds and five assists and Alisa Norton added 10 points in the win. Cleburne County led 28-9 at halftime.

Charlie Thomas led Clay Central with six points.
