Is "To Kill a Mockingbird" the most popular movie set in either real or fictional Alabama? According to this survey of data from the IMDb database, the answer is yes. The fictional Alabama town of Maycomb lives on, and apparently will for a long, long time thanks to author Harper Lee and the producers of the movie.

This is hardly cutting-edge research, but it is interesting to see which movies are so indelibly linked to which states. Georgia has "Gone with the Wind." Florida has "Scarface." Nebraska has, obviously, "Nebraska." Hawaii has "Tora, Tora, Tora!" And so on.
