Local runners participate in Marine Corps Marathon

Raynard Lawler, Patrick Towns and David Mahaffey, founding members of the Walk Jog Run Club of Anniston participated Oct. 27, 2013, in the Marine Corps Marathon held in Arlington, Va. They completed the 26.2 mile course in 5:51. This was the first full marathon for each of these runners.

In addition to the Marine Corps Marathon, Lawler, Towns and Mahaffey have finished a total of 13 half marathons to include five Mercedes in Birmingham, four Georgia Publix, three Talladega Race Track 21000 and one St. Louis Rock-N-Roll.
