Home delivery of today’s edition of The Anniston Star is on hold until authorities reopen roadways closed by Tuesday’s winter snowstorm.

However, copies of the paper should be available for sale by mid-afternoon at retail locations between Oxford and Jacksonville. Star personnel are carrying copies to Walmart, Samco, Walgreens and Mapco outlets near Alabama 21 and U.S. 78 in Jacksonville, Anniston and Oxford.

Dennis Dunn, The Star’s operations manager, wasn’t sure late this morning if carriers could reach subscribers’ homes today. There’s a chance the print editions for today and Thursday won’t be delivered until Thursday midday when roads are expected to be clear.

“If they don’t get it today, they should get it Thursday as the roads clear,” Dunn said.

In the meantime, readers should check for the latest news on the snowstorm. The Star has made the site free for all visitors so that residents can be kept up-to-date on local news and information on this week’s winter storm.
