Steven Curtis Chapman, a five-time Grammy winning singer and songwriter, will not perform at a concert that had been planned for Anniston later this month.

Awakening Events, the organizer of the tour, announced on Thursday the cancellation of the concert set for Feb. 23 at Anniston High School.

"Ticket sales did not allow for us to go forward with the event," said event spokesman Rick Hoganson.

Chapman will continue the rest of his Glorious Unfolding Tour across the Southeast throughout the year.

Full refunds will be issued to ticket holders including ticket fees. For tickets purchased at Itickets.com, a credit will issued to customers' credit cards. All other customers can get ticket refunds at their points of purchase. Ticket prices ranged from $26 for general admission to $55 for VIP seating.

Also, any Anniston ticket holders who wish to attend Chapman's Feb. 20 concert date in Athens at 7 p.m. in the Lindsey Lane Baptist Church can do so using their purchased tickets. Those who come early at 5:15 p.m. can enjoy a meet and greet with Chapman.

The tour continues Chapman's support of his recent album release, The Glorious Unfolding and Show Hope, a ministry Chapman founded that helps cares for orphans around the world.
