Councilmen David Dawson and John Spain supported us and also got in the dunking booth to help us raise money. The work that Phil Brown, John Duncan and the city street department have done is staggering.
Fire Chief Bill Fincher and his firefighters have been awesome, and Police Chief Dryden made sure we had uniformed officers at the events. Sheriff Larry Amerson and Jon Garlick helped with the TV shows and armored unit. PARD Director Steven Folks and his staff helped make these events possible. Electrician Glenn Williams and his staff were on top of every detail. Johnny Warren and staff provided a medical team at each event.
Betsy Bean and the Spirit of Anniston played a huge role; we could not have done this without them. Dan Spaulding from the Anniston Museum of Natural History helped and had a great attitude; the kids love that guy. The Anniston Star assisted by getting the word out to the public.
Last, but not least, we have some of the most unselfish people serving the city of Anniston on the downtown business association's board. They are doing a great job, and I am honored to serve with them. In July, please come see The Drifters in Zinn Park at the Super Saturday Blues Fest and BBQ Cookoff. VIP seating is available.
