Three teams are tied for first place after two rounds and each will take to the course at Anniston Country Club today, trying to shoot one stroke better than the others.
There are also three teams tied for second, one stroke behind the leaders. With six teams within one shot of the lead, the best ball format will decide the winner.
The second flight will also be hard-fought, but it might just come down to two teams. Mike Simmons and Sid McFall are tied with Bobby Shelton and David Holt, each with two-day totals of 129. They are three-strokes ahead of the three-way tie for second.
Trey Stone and David Dahle have the outright lead in the third flight after their 7-under-par, 65, at Cane Creek in the scramble format. Jimmy Ray and Brandon Ray trail them by one stroke.
The fourth flight epitomizes the balance of play in the tournament. Four teams are tied with scores of 133 after two rounds. The two leaders after Round 1, Lewis LeCroy and Kevin Wells, and also Kris Creedon and Randy Peppers, have been joined by Robin Hudson and Mack Huckaby and also Hugh Jones and Marc Jones.
Sean Gardner and Josh White have the biggest lead in the tournament outside of the Championship Flight. They lead the fifth flight over Roger Fair and Taylor Fair by two strokes going into the final day.
Jaime Lewis and Pete Mackey hold sole possession of the lead in the sixth flight with a two-day score of 136. They are one stroke ahead of Ted Martin and Stacy Williams and two strokes ahead of Day 1 co-leaders Wayne Tillman and Billy Grizzard.
