The National Weather Service issued the warning this afternoon. It says the heaviest snow should begin falling in eastern Alabama between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Friday. The warning says 2 to 4 inches of snow could accumulate in the warned area, which stretches across Alabama from the Mississippi state line to the border with Georgia, from as far north as Piedmont to Troy in the south.
Tonight’s low temperature is expected to be near 29 degrees. Temperatures on Friday are forecast to rise to a high of 33 degrees, with an overnight low of 24 heading into Saturday morning.
