• Dr. Wayman Shiver, former superintendent of the Birmingham City School system, is to speak at the Founder’s Day program at 3 p.m. at Gaines Chapel A.M.E. Church, 404 E. A St., Anniston. Shiver is a member of Jones Chapel A.M.E. Church in Fairfield, Ala., where he serves as vice chairman of the steward board and director of Christian education. He is also a member of the general board of the A.M.E. Church and is a director of the First Educator’s Credit Union.
