Re “Don’t like Riley? It could be worse” (Phillip Tutor column, April 30):

In Star Commentary Editor Phillip Tutor’s Friday column, I learned that nine out of 11 “worst state governors” were Republicans. And, the two Democrats to make the list are currently out of favor with their party.

After reading the dubious details, I decided to check out the “nonpartisan” watchdog group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW), that made the list.

Melanie Sloan, executive director of that group, has worked for John Conyers, D-Mich., Charles Schumer, D-N.Y., and Vice President Joe Biden, D-Del., and has appeared on, and written articles for, every liberal media outlet in the country.

Of the 12 staffers listed, not one has a Republican Party background or connection. However, several had connections to the Democratic Party. So to say this is a nonpartisan watchdog group is like saying Nancy Pelosi is an Independent. This can be verified at http://www.citizensforethics.org/about/staff.
