Students who recently participated in the 73rd annual American Legion Alabama Boys State in Montgomery included:

Steven Bissey of Jacksonville High School. He learned about business and economic development strategies for the future of Alabama. He is the son of Grant and Sonne Bissey.

Chris Brackett of Ohatchee High School participated in emergency preparedness training exercises. He is the son of Ricky and Rebecca Brackett.

Landon Cartwright of Alexandria High School developed a plan for the recruitment of an economic development project for his Boys State County. He is the son of Chuck and Autumn Cartwright.

Ethan Downey of Piedmont High School learned about emerging technologies and opportunities in the engineering and computer science fields. He is the son of Michael and Michele Downey.

Jalen Johnson of Piedmont High School was elected to the House of Representatives, where he wrote and debated bills of importance to all Alabama residents. He is the son of Steve and Kelly Johnson.

Bradley Lockridge of Faith Christian School participated in emergency preparedness training exercises. He is the son of Ray and Pam Lockridge.

Ryan Logan of Anniston High School learned about the different roles of law enforcement. He is the son of Richard and Regina Logan.

Dylan Lott of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic School was elected to the House of Representatives, where he wrote and debated bills of importance to all Alabama residents. He is the son of Bruce and Paula Lott.

Nathanie Owens of Jacksonville High School passed the Boys State Bar and participated in mock trials to learn about the legal system. He is the son of Lynetta and Nathaniel Owens.

Joshua Shake of Oxford High School participated in emergency preparedness training exercises. He is the son of Becky and Emmitt Shake.

Nicholas Stratton of Faith Christian School learned about the different roles of law enforcement. He is the son of Kim Moeller and Scott Stratton.

William Wiggins of Jacksonville High School was elected to the Senate, where he wrote and debated bills of importance to all Alabama residents. He is the son of Brenda and Jerald Wiggins.
