Mel Malkove, immediate past president of Anniston Kiwanis Club, presented scholarships at its May 24 meeting to area students. Pictured are the recipients and their advisors, Danielle George, Amber Ray and Carissa Lambert (advisor) of Ohatchee; Jaquinta Williams, Rodney Fomby and Joyce Christian (advisor) of Anniston; and Alexa Shepherd and Kimberly McWilliams and Ms. Melissa Purdy (advisor). The recipients of a Kiwanis Club Scholarship must be a member of their high school’s Key Club, complete an application and be interviewed by the scholarship committee. The club will mail a check to the college where the student will attend in the fall on the student’s behalf.
