Zachary Baeza, a sophomore at Saks High School, was recently selected to be a member of the Alabama Wing Drill Team. Alabama Civil Air Patrol conducted the tryouts over a three-day period at Maxwell Air Force base in Montgomery. Cadets who attended were evaluated on their knowledge, professionalism and motivation. Baeza earned a spot on the 14 member team, the first Alabama Wing Drill Team in almost 20 years. The team will first compete in southeast regionals in February.
