Lauren Haney-Self graduated Dec. 15 from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a master of art in English and a specialization in composition and rhetoric. Haney-Self graduated with honors from Weaver High School in 2005 and cum laude from Jacksonville State University in 2009 with a bachelor of art in English. She resides in Birmingham with her husband and teaches English 101 courses as an adjunct instructor.
