"I do not have any information on that or anything,” Oxford athletic director Larry Davidson said.
"We have not discussed any of that."
Football Scoop first reported Grass would be leaving to take the position of wide receivers coach, but later amended that report saying the position would be as offensive coordinator and assistant head coach.
Football Scoop is a website specializing in coaching news and according to its website has been in existence since 1999.
Attempts to reach Grass were unsuccessful, but Jacksonville State spokesman Greg Seitz shot multiple holes in the report.
Seitz said that Clark was currently meeting with staff members from recently fired coach Jack Crowe, not potential hires.
He also said from a protocol standpoint, nothing could be official.
“The university is shut down,” Seitz said, citing the holiday schedule. “There would be no announcement until it was back open because of the (Human Resources) process.”
That department is set to re-open on Jan. 2.
Attempts to reach Grass were unsuccessful.
Grass first became a head coach in 1995 with Ashville before he began his assent through the high school coaching world.
He had stops at Albertville, Moody and Spain Park, where he guided the Jaguars to the state title game in 2007, then left to begin his current five-year stint at Oxford.
After making the playoffs in his first four years at Oxford, including a semifinals berth in 2011, the Yellow Jackets went 6-4 in 2012 and missed the playoffs for only the third time since 1984.
