Choose a child from the Angel Tree
Buy gifts for a needy child through the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree program.
Pick an angel ornament off a tree. Each angel contains information about a particular child, including age, clothing sizes and gift wishes.
Trees will be located at Quintard Mall and at the Salvation Army office, 420 Noble St., Anniston.
Gifts can be dropped off at the mall or at the Salvation Army office.
Angel Trees will be on display at the mall through Dec. 11.
The Salvation Army’s Stuff-A-Stocking goal is that needy children, women and men in homeless shelters and lonely seniors throughout Calhoun and Cleburne counties will have a stocking to open on Christmas morning.
Stockings may be picked up at the Salvation Army, 420
Noble Street, and returned by Dec. 13.
Drop a gift card in the red kettle
Don’t hang onto those unused gift cards this year.
The Salvation Army will accept gift cards at its Red Kettle locations.
You can drop off gift cards with any unused balance, and the Salvation Army can turn them into cash to help struggling families throughout Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi.
Anyone wishing to sponsor a drive to collect these cards — Sunday School classes, churches, fraternal organizations, school classrooms, work places — can contact the Salvation Army via email under the “Contact Us” section on its website, www.uss.salvationarmy.org/uss/www_uss_Anniston.nsf.
The Salvation Army bell ringers and their red kettles will be around town, including at Quintard Mall, through Dec. 24.
Gift wrapping for charity
2nd Chance will be wrap-ping gifts at Quintard Mall, Dec. 2-24.
Have your gifts wrapped and help support 2nd Chance’s efforts against domestic violence.
